Alexis Sanchez Reportedly Turns Down Manchester United for Manchester City

Alexis Sanchez has reportedly turned down the opportunity to join Manchester United as he is determined to join Manchester City.

According to The Sun's Phil Thomas and Neil Ashton, Sanchez has snubbed United's offer after they reportedly lodged a bid with Arsenal of £25 million plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan for his services, despite the Red Devils being prepared to hand him a higher salary than the £275,000 per week he'll receive at City.

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker believes the deal offered by United would be an attractive proposition to Arsenal:

Mkhitaryan is low on confidence and struggling under Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, but if he could recapture the form he displayed at Borussia Dortmund—when he bagged 23 goals and 32 assists in his final season—he'd be a sensational player for Arsenal.
