Manchester City enjoyed a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Tuesday night, courtesy of goals from Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan, but Phil Foden was deserving of the plaudits for his performance at the Etihad Stadium. The 20-year-old was a constant thorn in Villa’s side and should have contributed at least one goal for his troubles.
Against the Claret and Blues, Foden played for 90 minutes, had 79 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 86.8% of his 53 passes, made one interception, created six chances, had five shots with 20% accuracy, won one freekick, made one clearance, had three successful dribbles and made one tackle.
