Pinehurst, N.C. – Trey Winstead won two matches on Friday at the 120th Men's North & South Championship on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the tournament hosted at Pinehurst.
Winstead finished tied for ninth after two days of stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday, and that earned him the No. 13 seed in the 32 player match-play bracket that began Thursday. He got off to a bit of a slow start in the Round of 32 match against the No. 20-seeded Connor Schmidt trailing by two at the turn.
