Athlon Sports put out its rankings of every projected starting quarterback in FBS college football on Thursday morning and Tigers signal caller Danny Etling is ranked as a middle of the road starter.
Etling came in at No. 63 among 130 teams and is expected to hold off Justin McMillan, Lindsey Scott, Lowell Narcisse and Myles Brennan for the starting job once September 2 rolls around and LSU opens the season against BYU.
Athlon writes: "New offensive coordinator Matt Canada is tasked with improving LSU's passing attack. ... The Tigers have plenty of room to grow their passing game, but Etling helped this group show some punch late in the 2016 season.
