Auburn, Alabama—Two members of the LSU men's tennis team moved onto the third round of the qualifying stage Thursday in the ITA Southern Regional taking place in Auburn, Alabama.
Sophomore Nick Watson and freshman Tomas Descarrega went a perfect 2-0, winning both matches in straight sets. The Tigers went 3-0 in the first round, with senior Ruy Teixeira adding a win against the #13 seed from UAB 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Watson and Descarrega breezed past their first-round opponents. Watson defeated Alabama State 6-2, 6-0, while Descarrega defeated Troy 6-0, 6-4.
