Stone's Points Help USA Claim Lead In Palmer Cup

SUGAR GROVE, Illinois – LSU sophomore Latanna Stone won 1.5 points on Saturday and helped the United State team to a big afternoon advantage that gives them a lead heading to Sunday's final day of singles at Rich Harvest Farms.

The United States won six of the eight completed weather-delayed matches in the mixed foursomes (alternate shot) in the afternoon after another close session in the morning session in which a 6-6 first-day tie became a 12 ½-11 ½ International team lead.

With 24 singles matches set for Sunday and four matches still to finish from Saturday afternoon, the USA has a 17 ½-14 ½ lead, needing 30 ½ points to win the Cup.
