Nikki Fargas Reportedly Resigns as Lady Tigers Head Coach

After 10 years and 158 wins, LSU women’s basketball coach Nikki Fargas is stepping down from the program according to a report by WAFB.

Fargas is the second longest tenured coach in the history of the program and provided some stability after the program had three head coaching changes in the previous decade.

She had one year remaining on her contract.

During her tenure at LSU, the Lady Tigers made it to two Sweet 16s and six NCAA tournaments. However, the program never quite matched the success LSU had in the 2000s.

One of Fargas’ most noticeable accomplishments at LSU was coaching in the 2012 SEC championship game while 9 months pregnant.
