MLB Draft 2018: LSU signee Brice Turang picked No. 21 overall by the Milwaukee Brewers

Brice Turang, a shortstop from Santiago (Calif.) High School and an LSU baseball signee, was picked with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft on Monday night.

The 6-foot, 161-pound Turang was once in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft before his senior season dropped him down some draft boards.

Because he's been held to such a high standard that several scouts expected him to keep performing at an insanely high level which he didn't do during the 2018 prep season.

Whether or not Turang ever made it to LSU was a longshot - especially when he was in the top five conversation - but there's reason to believe it's not a forgone conclusion he'll start his professional career now.
