The LSU Tigers were slated to begin their 2015 football season on Saturday against the McNeese State Cowboys. Unfortunately, severe weather in the Baton Rouge area caused a change in plans.
Less than five minutes into the game, a weather delay was announced after lightning struck near Tiger Stadium. Over three hours later, the game was cancelled altogether.
Each team only had one offensive possession on the night. LSU sophomore running back Leonard Fournette recorded 11 yards on two carries, while quarterback Brandon Harris completed 1-of-2 passes for negative four yards. Donte Jackson, who is expected to be a three-way threat for the Tigers, returned the opening kickoff and recorded four rushing yards on a jet sweep.
