BATON ROUGE—The LSU women's basketball team roared into 2020 and SEC play with a 71-60 win against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The win by the Tigers pushes their overall record to 11-2 and 1-0 in the SEC.
Redshirt senior Ayana Mitchell posted 20 points for the third time in LSU's last four games and earned the 32nd double-double of her career with a team-leading 11 rebounds. Junior Khayla Pointer also recorded her third double-figure game in the last four with 18 points and 8 assists. Redshirt junior Faustine Aifuwa also contributed 12 points, 7 rebounds and four blocked shots in the paint.
