LSU Wins Battle at Texas, 69-67

AUSTIN, Texas – LSU had to stave off a Texas comeback in the Frank Irwin Center during the second half on Saturday, but ultimately prevailed, 69-67, to win its seventh straight game.

LSU improved to 15-4 while Texas fell to 12-7.

The Tigers trailed by 10 at the half, but Texas cranked up the pressure in the second half and took a two-point lead with a three-pointer from Matt Coleman III with 4:52 left to play. From there, the game was neck and neck.

A Trendon Watford lay-in off a lob from Skylar Mays with 1:48 left gave LSU a 62-60 lead, a lead that the Tigers would not surrender.
