EUGENE, Ore. - Junior center fielder Giovanni DiGiacomo roped a single up the middle to give the Tigers a 6-5 victory to stave off elimination in the Eugene Regional at PK Park.
Following a Gavin Dugas hit-by-pitch, Zach Arnold single and Drew Bianco walk, DiGiacomo headed to the plate with the bases loaded. After a lengthy seven-pitch battle, he gave the Tigers a thrilling victory in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Freshman right-hander Garrett Edwards came into the ballgame and had a strong outing giving up no runs on two hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
