LSU spring review: Progress made with passing attack

BATON ROUGE, La. –Coming off consecutive seasons where LSU’s passing offense finished in the triple-digits nationally, Les Miles increased his team’s focus on the passing game this spring. Junior Brandon Harris separated himself from Purdue transfer Danny Etling in the quarterback race, but coaches are confident Etling can produce if called upon.

If improving the pass offense was 1A, installing a 3-4 defense under new coordinator Dave Aranda was 1B. With numbers scant among the linebackers, tinkering and shuffling has solved a few issues. Freshman running back Devin White now is linebacker and so is senior safety Corey Thompson.
