After going down with an injury late in the first half of the LSU spring game, Tigers safety Grant Delpit tweeted he will have surgery on Monday.

A source said Delpit suffered a broken collarbone when he went down hard trying to defend a pass to Justin Jefferson late in the second quarter.

The injury is expected to keep Delpit out 6-8 weeks which would allow him to return to walkthroughs in June and be a full-go for fall camp heading into the 2018 season.

Delpit, a sophomore, stayed on the ground for quite some time before walking off under his own power with LSU trainers at his side.
