LSU football’s main competition for 4-star QB Garrett Nussmeier

The assumption over the last couple of months has been that four-star quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is LSU football’s to lose.

Nussmeier, 6-foot-2/185 lbs from Flower Mound, TX (Marcus), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 16 player in the state of Texas and the No. 7 pro-style quarterback in the nation.

The highly touted quarterback has several connections to LSU. He was born in Louisiana and his dad, Doug Nussmeier, has a strong connection to new Tigers passing game coordinator Scott Linehan.

(Linehan coached Nussmeier’s father at Idaho in the early 90’s. Linehan and Doug Nussmeier also coached together with the Dallas Cowboys.
