LSU football is one of several programs pursuing 2021 five-star defensive tackle Maason Smith.
Smith, 6-foot-5/316 lbs from Houma, LA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 2 defensive tackle in the nation.
The Louisiana native, who also holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma (among numerous other schools), is the type of player who can anchor a defensive line.
247Sports recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks describes Smith as a versatile defender who is “strong at the point of attack” with the “tools to fit multiple roles/schemes”.
