It's official. The Brian Kelly era in Baton Rouge is over.
LSU made the decision to fire Kelly on Sunday evening following lengthy discussions throughout the day. The move comes a day after the Tigers lost in embarrassing fashion to the Texas A&M Aggies by a score of 49-25 to fall to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in SEC play this season. Tiger fans had reached a boiling point with Kelly, and it didn't take long for the school to pull the plug on Kelly following the lopsided loss to A&M.
After three underwhelming seasons in Baton Rouge, this was supposed to be the year that LSU was back competing for an SEC title and National Championship.
