LSU DL commit Jamarcus Chatman rescinds his verbal pledge, re-opens recruitment

Georgia defensive lineman Jamarcus Chatman released a surprising statement on Sunday that he is decommitting from LSU.

The 6-feet-3, 270-pounder stated that he would "like to thank Coach O, and the whole Louisiana State University coaching staff." Chatman continued. "I still think Louisiana State is a great place to be, but this is the right decision for me."

Chatman's announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, much like his initial commitment in April, when he and his teammates, outside linebacker Adam Anderson and defensive tackle Jaquon Griffin, committed to LSU and Coach Ed Orgeron during an unofficial visit.
