LSU could challenge 1st-round record in 2017 NFL draft

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ohio State’s five first-round picks in this year’s NFL draft was one short of Miami’s record of six set in the 2004 draft. LSU has not had a first-round pick in back-to-back drafts, but that will change in 2017 – to the point that LSU could challenge Miami’s record.

The Tigers have four underclassmen who seem almost certain to enter the 2017 draft, and each could end up in the first round.

Running back Leonard Fournette might be the best overall player in the 2017 draft; he has a rare blend of size, speed and power.
