Every year, there are a select few high school recruits out of each area who standout above the rest. For 2018 in Jacksonville, FL players like Tyreke Johnson from Trinity Christian Academy and Joey Gatewood from Bartram Trail High School have become household names. Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach (Fla.) harbors another one of those prospects, tight end Zach Sheffer.
Sheffer (6-feet-3, 280 pounds) is the No. 27 ranked tight end in the 2018 class according to 247Sports. The three-star prospect is currently committed to LSU.
Sheffer, who was adamant about his dedication to LSU, was in Baton Rouge for the Tigers’ dramatic win over Auburn.
