Leonard Fournette tantalizingly close to legendary name surpassing ordinary fame, Wright Thompson says | Video

ESPN's "College GameDay" featured Wright Thompson's "Legend of Leonard" story on LSU running back Leonard Fournette on Saturday.

"Only a few athletes move past ordinary fame to something more permanent," Thompson narrated. "Names like Herschel and Bo, Tony Dorsett or our own Desmond Howard, Joe Namath, Derrick Thomas, Billy Cannon — just hearing their names aloud invokes a clear picture of a time and a place. The sound of the words is its own kind of poem.

"Leonard Fournette's tantalizingly close to being one of those names, where just the lyrical roll of four syllables will bring to life the fall of 2015 and a running back literally punching an opposed tackler until he lets go
