Leonard Fournette named New Orleans' Outstanding Male Amateur athlete

LSU's Leonard Fournette was named New Orleans' Outstanding Male Amateur athlete, among six other 2015-16 awards announced Monday by the Greater New Orleans Sports Selection Committee. Fournette, a St. Aug graduate, rushed for an LSU record 1,953 yards in 2015 – he became the first LSU player in history to lead the nation in rushing.

Other award winners include powerhouse St. Paul's boys soccer and unexpected girls basketball state champion Ursuline Academy. The full list of winners is below.

The winners will be honored at the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, August 6, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
