The Lane Kiffin era at LSU has officially begun. Kiffin was named LSU's next head coach on Sunday, and has already been meeting with LSU officials and recruits. Kiffin's new contract has been a topic of major discussion, and now those details have been revealed.
According to Wilson Alexander of The Advocate, Kiffin has agreed to a seven-year contract worth $91 million with the Tigers. That evens out to an annual salary of $13 million per year, which makes him the second-highest paid coach in the country just behind Georgia's Kirby Smart.
The deal comes with an incentive piece where if Kiffin wins the national title, an automatic escalator will kick in to make him the highest-paid coach in all of college football.
