On the eve of the Heisman Trophy ceremony, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels picked up two more pieces of hardware to add to his 2023 awards.
After a quick stop in Baltimore to pick up his Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Daniels made it to New York to partake in the College Football Awards Show and walked away with both the Davey O’Brien and the Walter Camp awards. For reasons that remain unclear to me, Daniels was named a Walter Camp second-team All-American despite winning the Walter Camp group’s own award.
The Davey O’Brien is given out to the top quarterback in the country, while the Walter Camp is one of three most outstanding player awards along with the Maxwell and of course the Heisman.
