LSU will have its best offensive player for Saturday night’s game with Syracuse after all, as coach Ed Orgeron reversed field Thursday night and said Derrius Guice would play.

Oregon has said Wednesday night on his weekly radio show that Guice, who suffered a slight knee injury in last week’s loss to Mississippi State, would miss the game with the Orange.

Guice practiced Thursday and pronounced himself fit; he had missed practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Orgeron told reporters that while Guice will start, he will play in a “limited role.”

Guice leads LSU with 300 rushing yards and four rushing TDs; he is fifth in the SEC in rushing yards and tied for third in rushing TDs.
