If your first glance at today’s report has you checking your calendar, that’s understandable. Our quick-hitting tidbit format usually goes up on a Tuesday, not a Wednesday. And with only two days before the start of LSU preseason football, you probably would expect a bunch of football news. Instead, this daily dose is filled almost entirely with comments from head baseball coach Paul Mainieri and head basketball coach Will Wade, both of whom held press conferences yesterday. (Hence the quick-hitting format used to cover a lot of ground.)
One more note before getting started: I had every intention of heading out to Baton Rouge to hear Coach Mainieri speak about his signing class and upcoming season.
