With one of its best overall performances of the season, the LSU men’s basketball team defeated No. 8 Arkansas, 78-71, to clinch a meeting with Alabama in the SEC Tournament championship. A combination of early scoring and great second-half defense paved the way to the victory and secured LSU its first SEC Tournament championship berth in 28 years.
Entering the contest, Jerry Palm had the Tigers listed as a No. 5 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, and LSU will have an opportunity to improve on that projection with another upset victory today over Alabama.
