Jay Johnson can’t stop and won’t stop working the portal.
After adding two power bats out of the portal yesterday, Johnson took another step toward restocking the pitching depth. Enter Cooper Moore.
Moore, a rising junior out of Kansas, announced on Wednesday he would be transferring to LSU. Last season with the Jayhawks, Moore started 14 times and posted a 7-3 record with a 3.96 ERA. Moore had 85 strikeouts against 19 walks in 88.2 innings, and opponents batted .265 against him.
With two years of experience at the Power 4 level, including spending last season as Kansas’s Friday night ace, it’s easy to pencil in Moore as a starter for 2026.
