The 2013 LSU Tigers might be the best team in the program’s storied history to not win it all.
Those Tigers tied the 1997 national championship team for most wins in a single season with 57. They won a program record 48 regular season games and tied the program record of 23 SEC wins. Along the way the 2013 team won the SEC West and won the SEC Tournament; they earned the No. 4 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament and swept through both the Baton Rouge Regional and the Baton Rouge Super Regional to advance to Omaha for the 16th time and the first time post-Rosenblatt Stadium.
