BATON ROUGE – Both the beach and indoor volleyball teams at LSU earned the U.S. Marine Corps AVCA Team Academic Award for exceptional performance in the classroom over the past academic year.
The AVCA Team Academic Award was founded in 1992-93 to celebrate the scholastic achievement of maintaining a 3.30 grade point average throughout the entire academic year on a 4.0 scale. The 1,313 winners in 2020 broke the last year's record by nearly 200 teams. In the NCAA Division I Women class there were 227 teams to earn the award, also a record.
