Offensive coordinator Joe Sloan addressed the media following yesterday’s practice, but before that, Coach Kelly came out to set the record straight on Garrett Nussmeier’s health.
“Just for the record, he has tendinitis — patella tendinitis,” Kelly said of Nussmeier. He does not have a torn ACL. We have not amputated his leg… He was out there today throwing. Tomorrow, he’ll be back out, most likely in a practice situation. So, I thought we’d calm everybody down.”
Kelly said the issue stems from the Osgood-Schlatter knee surgery Nussmeier had in 2023, and likened it to someone who deals with a bad ankle and has flare-ups.
