Jay Johnson is absolutely relentless. LSU’s head baseball coach hasn’t slowed down one bit since winning his second national championship just a few weeks ago. In that short time, he’s landed nine players from the portal who clearly address the team’s three biggest needs — infielders, power at the plate, and pitching, pitching, pitching.
The latest of the nine portal additions is a dandy — former Kansas ace Cooper Moore. The sophomore right-hander started 14 games and threw 88.2 innings this past season, striking out 85 while issuing only 19 walks.
