Powered by great pitching and plenty of offense, the LSU baseball team capped an outstanding weekend in Jacksonville with a dominant 11–0 victory over UCF. The highlight of the afternoon was the starting pitching of William Schmidt, who gave the Tigers exactly what they needed — and exactly what we wanted to see — by working five scoreless innings while allowing just three hits with seven strikeouts and only one walk. It marked the third consecutive strong outing from LSU’s starting pitching, the one area we were most eager to see improve this weekend.
