LSU Recruiting: NDSU Transfer Jabril Cox Commits To LSU, Update On 2021 5-star OT Tommy Brockermeyer + Predicting Tigers Future QB Room

LSU sent shockwaves throughout the college football world when Ed Orgeron picked up prized grad-transfer Jabril Cox this week. Cox, an FCS All-American linebacker and national champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019 at North Dakota State, announced that we would transfer to LSU for his senior season.

On College Football Now today, Chat Sports analyst Carter Bryant discussed how Cox fills a major need, as LSU lost Patrick Queen, Jacob Phillips and K’Lavon Chaisson to the 2020 NFL Draft. Cox is certainly a boost to the Tigers' 2020 SEC and National Championship aspirations. And while there's not much to bet on right now, there are still Canadian sports betting sites offering futures odds like the Tigers at +600 to go back-to-back.

Plus, Bryant discussed LSU recruiting updates on Tommy Brockermeyer, Monkelle Goodwine and MJ Morris.

LSU’s coaches are still hitting the road hard for the Class of 2021. IN THE VIDEO ABOVE AND BELOW, we’re breaking down why offensive tackle is the biggest position of need for this cycle. The Tigers are making a push for the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country Tommy Brockermeyer and his twin, the No. 2 center James Brockermeyer. If the Tigers can’t sway the Texas duo to Louisiana, keep an eye on 5-stars Amarius Mims and Tristan Leigh + 4-stars JC Latham and Garrett Dellinger.

Defensive end has been one of Orgeron’s strong points in his career. LSU has some needs to fill on the edge in Pelini’s new system for 2021. Bryant tells you why Monkell Goodwine, Bryce Langston, Landon Jackson, Keanu Koht, Savion Jones and Dylan Brooks are all major focal points for this cycle. Also, the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana Sage Ryan listed LSU in his Top 10. Will Ryan, the Lafayette superstar with heavy ties to the Tigers, stay close to home? Or can Alabama or Clemson pry him away?

It was hard to envision a day where quarterback would be a strong point at LSU. But Joe Burrow’s legendary Heisman campaign has set a new standard. The Tigers are looking to land a major 2022 signal caller by offering 4-star MJ Morris out of Georgia. Walker Howard, another Lafayette prospect with heavy ties to LSU, is the most likely prospect the Tigers will land. Bryant takes a peek at the future of the position, giving his picks as to who will back up Myles Brennan next year.
