LSU Football Recruiting: Friday Rumors Roundup

The LSU Tigers had a disappointing 8-5 season that ended with a Music City Bowl loss to Notre Dame, but they’re look to reload for 2015 and beyond on the recruiting trail. Who’s on their way to Baton Rouge? Who’s still deciding? All this and more in our recruiting roundup:

11 RECRUITS VISITING BATON ROUGE THIS WEEKEND

Three five-star recruits headline what should be a big weekend at LSU, who is hosting 11 prospects on Saturday.

Iman Marshall, Derrius Guice (who's already committed, but isn't a firm commit), and Toby Weathersby are the Tiger's big targets on the visit, and Les Miles will be employing the help of two of LSU’s five-star commits, Tyron Johnson and Donte Jackson.

Ohio State quarterback commit Torrance Gibson will also be on the visit, and LSU is hoping they can do enough to flip him come National Signing Day.

One thing the staff will look to do this weekend is firm up the commitments of Xavier Lewis and Nick Brossette, both of whom Texas is hoping to flip.

GUICE TO TAKE VISIT TO ALABAMA

The four-star running back has committed to LSU, but there's still a chance he could flip to Alabama on Signing Day.

Guice visited LSU unofficially last weekend and makes trips to LSU on a steady basis. He will be taking part in the official visit this weekend, but will finish his recruitment with an official visit to Alabama next weekend.

LSU TARGETING NEW IN-STATE DL

LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron is looking for defensive linemen to bolster the 2015 class, and he met with a new target, four-star DE Reggie Walker (Ponchatoula, LA) today.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder is committed to Kansas State, but he also has offers from Florida, Miami, Arkansas, and Arizona State.

Orgeron likes Walker's explosiveness and quickness off the line, but LSU is a bit concerned about his smaller frame.
