5 Things We Learned From LSU's Win Over Auburn

The LSU Tigers rolled to a 45-21 win over the Auburn Tigers. LSU is now 2-0, with both wins coming over ranked SEC teams. The Tigers look like a real threat this season. Here are five things we learned from LSU's win over Auburn.

Brandon Harris Is Good Enough

Harris wasn't incredible, but he didn't need to be. He completed 12 of 17 passes for 74 yards and a score. He did damage on the ground, picking up 66 yards and two scores on eight carries. Most importantly, he didn't turn the ball over. If Harris plays like that all season, LSU will be a dangerous team.

Jeremy Johnson Needs Improvement

Johnson has dark horse Heisman hopes, but he hasn't played well this season. Turnovers have been a huge issue and Johnson threw yet another interception today. He was 11 of 19 for 100 yards and two scores. Right now Auburn needs Cam Newton 2.0 and Johnson isn't anywhere near that level.

Auburn Isn't a College Football Playoff Contender

Perhaps we already knew this after Auburn nearly lost to Jacksonville State, but the loss to LSU confirms it. The defense couldn't stop the run at all (more on that later) and the offense isn't good enough right now. Auburn was a popular pick to make the College Football Playoff, but that doesn't look like it will be a reality.

LSU Could Win The SEC

The way LSU has looked in its first two games, the Tigers have a real chance at making a run at the SEC. The defense looks strong and the running game might be the best in the nation. Everyone in the stadium knows LSU is going to run the football and LSU still has success. Behind a strong ground game and a good defense, LSU can win the SEC this season.

Leonard Fournette Is A Man Among Boys

Fournette had 19 carries for 228 yards and three TDs. He looks like a Heisman contender right now.
