Loyola Athletics announced the cancellation of two upcoming matchups via press release Dec. 17 due to “positive COVID-19 results within the Ramblers’ program.” Associate Athletics Director Bill Behrns said “multiple” tests were returned positive.
The two games — a home matchup against Norfolk State University Dec. 19 and an away game at Davidson University Dec. 22 — will reportedly not be rescheduled according to the press release.
Behrns said with multiple tests turning up positive, this caused the games to be canceled altogether as opposed to a few people sitting out. He said the cases were within Tier 1 personnel, which according to the NCAA could include athletes, coaches, trainers and other close contact individuals.
