The Loyola men’s basketball team secured its place in the 2022 NCAA Tournament after taking down Drake University to win the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) in St. Louis March 6. Cheering for the Ramblers at the Enterprise Center was team chaplain and Chicago icon, Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, BVM.

Led by first-year head coach Drew Valentine — the youngest head coach in NCAA Division I basketball at 30 years old — Loyola got its second-straight MVC Championship title and will be making its third March Madness appearance in the past five years.

Prior to his current role, Valentine served as an assistant coach at Loyola under Porter Moser.
