The Loyola women’s basketball team (6-8, 12-13) fell to Southern Illinois University Friday night at Gentile Arena, breaking a two game win streak. The eighth place Salukis secured this win after a close 68-66 loss to fourth place Illinois State University last Sunday.
Sophomore guard Abby O’Connor led the team in points with a total of 17. O’Connor and junior guard Tiara Wallace led in rebounds with seven each.
“I just don’t think we played well today,” head coach Kate Achter said. “Case in point, we went 5-[for]-13 from the free throw line and only got six assists.
