Offensive Woes Plague Loyola Men’s Basketball in Loss to Coppin State

Three days after losing to Furman University by 24 points, the Loyola men’s basketball team (1-2) suffered another disappointing loss.

The Ramblers lost to Coppin State University 76-72 at Gentile Arena Tuesday night. Loyola shot 42.6 percent from the field and just 19 percent from beyond the three-point line. Coppin State outscored Loyola 45-34 after halftime en route to the victory.

Last season, the Eagles went 8-25 overall and 7-9 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). The Eagles were ranked 342 out of 353 Division I teams in the NCAA Evaluation Tool — a metric which helps determine which teams receive at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament — last year.
