The Loyola women’s volleyball team is no stranger to adversity. In a season filled with injuries and life hardships, the team has seen it all. Assistant Coach Sondra Parys is no stranger to this. After being diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2010, she’s shown her team how to figxht its battles with grace.

Parys has been at Loyola since 2017 — the same year Head Coach Amanda Berkley was hired. As a Crystal Lake, Illinois native, Parys said Loyola was the perfect fit for her. Aligning with her personal values and being close to home, Parys said she feels lucky to have found a place like Loyola.
