Loyola Women’s Basketball Upsets Missouri State on Senior Day

In its last-ever Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) regular season game, the Loyola women’s basketball team (18-11, 10-8) upset Missouri State University 60-42 March 5 on senior day — largely due to Loyola’s strong defense that forced Missouri State to shoot just 24% from the floor.

Missouri State is powered by its defense, which allows 53.3 points per game on average — the lowest average of points conceded in the MVC. Abigayle Jackson leads the Lady Bears’ defense by averaging 4.1 defensive rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game this season. Missouri State is 10-1 this season when conceding less than 60 points.
