Coming off a dominant victory in its home opener against Bucknell University Aug. 26, the Loyola men’s soccer team (2-0, 0-0) beat No. 25 Bowling Green State University (BGSU) 1-0 Aug. 28 at Loyola Soccer Park for the program’s annual “Hustle to Hoyne” match.
Loyola broke its men’s soccer attendance record with 1,163 fans in attendance packed into the stands cheering and stomping their feet. This was the largest crowd at Loyola Soccer Park since Nov. 17, 2016, with 1,023 in attendance.
Head Coach Steve Bode said the large crowd helped his players play hard throughout the game, adding that he doesn’t think his team would have won without the cheering fans.
