In the 2022 Men’s Basketball Selection Sunday program, it was announced that No. 10-seeded Loyola would play the No. 7-seeded Ohio State University in Pittsburgh March 18.
The Loyola team was surrounded by fans as it watched the program March 13 in a watch party hosted at Gentile Arena.
The event began at 4:15 p.m. with performances from spirit teams including the pep band, cheer and dance team. Players and coaches began arriving afterwards after the team’s hype video was played for the fans.
In a quick speech to the attending fans after the team and staff had made their way to the stage, Loyola head coach Drew Valentine talked about how important it was for him to watch the results of Selection Sunday with fans.
