After back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) regular season championships, the Loyola men’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the MVC preseason poll. Also, Loyola junior center Cameron Krutwig was chosen as the MVC Preseason Player of the Year.
Krutwig would be the third consecutive Rambler to win the award after Clayton Custer won it in 2017-18 and Marques Townes won it in 2018-19.
Missouri State University was the clear favorite to win the MVC, receiving 29 of the 44 first-place votes. Bradley and Northern Iowa also are projected to finish ahead of Loyola, coming in at second and third, respectively.
