In a match with back-and-forth offensive chances and 90 minutes of high-energy play, the Loyola men’s soccer team (5-1-2) beat George Washington University (GWU) 4-0 Sept. 24 at Loyola Soccer Park. The crushing victory marked the Ramblers’ first A-10 victory in program history and its fifth consecutive victory at home.

Early in the first half, Loyola pushed the ball deep into GWU’s end, keeping possession alive by winning contested balls and performing textbook tackles. Just two minutes into the half, junior defensive midfielder Julian Cisneros reached the edge of the box and sent a powerful shot to the goal, but it sailed just high of the net.
