The Loyola men’s basketball team (17-4, 8-2) bounced back from its loss to Drake University Jan. 30 by dominating the Illinois State Redbirds 78-64 in Gentile Arena Feb. 2. The Ramblers moved to 8-2 in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play and remain tied with Drake for first place in the MVC.
“We’ve talked a lot about over these past couple days just playing with more of an edge,” Loyola head coach Drew Valentine said. “You know, coming out with more of a sense of purpose, more of a sense of urgency… I thought it was noticeable just their intensity and passion for the game.
