The Loyola cross country team excelled in both of its last two meets in St. Louis on Sept. 17 and Chicago on Sept. 30. Both men’s and women’s teams found success, carried by strong performances throughout the team.
The Loyola men’s cross country team traveled to St. Louis to face Saint Louis University, Maryville, Lindenwood, and Kaskaskia College at the Billiken Invitational. Graduate student Sean O’Connell finished in first place and sophomore Gabe Smith finished in second place, which led to a first place team finish. In total, all five Loyola men’s runners finished top ten, well over the second place St.
