First-year mid-distance runner Jason Clayton is off to a hot start in the first semester of his collegiate career. Posting Loyola’s eighth best program history time in the 1500 meter run – clocking at 03:46.86 at Raleigh Relays March 24 — the Melbourne, Australia native has been a valuable asset for this season’s track team.

Clayton described himself as a very “sporty kid” growing up. He said his father was very committed to health and fitness, which led him to gain his passion for track.

His most influential drive, however, is the feeling of winning.
