Incoming Loyola soccer defenseman Jacob Graiber had the once in a lifetime opportunity to play with the Argentinian National Team, the No. 1 team in the latest FIFA World Rankings, and its star player Lionel Messi.
Originally, when Graiber left his club team’s practice, he didn’t think there would be anything special about the next day’s training. It was just another routine practice and workout with his team. However, one phone call with some exciting news changed his perspective.
Graiber found out he would be training alongside the Argentinian National Team.
Graiber, a Plainfield, Illinois, native plays for the Chicago Fire U-17/18 team, an affiliate of the United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA).
